Katie Ash
Length of time with the PZS?
This is my first year!
How did you get involved? / What attracted you to this job?
I just recently moved to Portland, and part of what attracted me to this city was its active zine community. Helping out with zine events was something I knew I wanted to do even before I moved here.
What do you do for PZS?
Hang out, speculate about what might make for a good symposium, learn about symposiums past.
Favorite parts of the event?
I am really, really excited about meeting zinesters that I've read for years but never met face-to-face, matching handwriting/addresses/zines to faces, being introduced to zines I haven't read yet, being surrounded by people who love zines as much as I do, etc. etc.
Age, and anything you'd like to say about your self...
I'm 23. I've been writing zines since I was 17 and stuck in a small town in Virginia with a bunch of best friends who introduced me to zines and encouraged me to make my own. Been doing it ever since.
You might know me from..
I write a zine called aubade and a tiny weird zine about technology called we are not machines! I also review zines for Zine World, try really hard to keep the Word of Mouth section up to date, and send crazy letters out through the postal network.
Etc, etc, etc..
See you in July!
