Length of time with PZS?

This is the first time, yo. Never too old, never too young. I guess that puts me in the middle.

How did you get involved? / What attracted you to this job?

I have a great deal of respect for the Portland Zine Symposium. I have a lifelong love of zines and admiration of those that make them. This is my way to pay my respects and to put my money where my mouth is. I hope to be able to do even more throughout the coming years.

What do you do for PZS?

General grunt/proud shitworker

Favorite parts of the event?

I'll let you know afterwards. I'm definitely in it to network, meet new folks, share victories, and move on into the future. I am a firm believer that we can build the kind of culture that we want to live in, and that takes trust, cooperation, and commitment. Live your heart, and don't back down. We're not in it to lose.

Age, and anything you'd like to say about your self?

26 years old. Moved up to Portland last year to live with my boyfriend Owen and to go to school again. Nice town y'all got here; think I'll stay awhile. I am part of the few, the proud, the Vegan  Queer Edge; now and always. I am currently pursuing education in the direction of a public interest law degree, with special emphasis on animal rights and/or resisting the frivolous war on drugs. I believe confronting the system to argue in favor of the real benefits of harm reduction should be an active pursuit of politically aware and class conscious straight edge kids instead of wasting it all on the stupidities of alienation by elitism or violent fascism.

You might know me from..

Riding too slow in the bike lane because my bag is full of fifty pounds of books. Scowling and swearing at a pile of disheveled papers while drinking too much coffee and getting all jittery at the Red and Black CafĂ©  (and the amazing "Vegan mini-mall"). High fives and stage dives, dancing in the pit, my zine Falloutkid, Goldenspike Hardcore, or hanging out with ghosts around 4 am, under a full moon, at a trainyard near you.

Etc, etc, etc...

Two things you can bet the farm on: 1) The world's best punk songs are usually anti-cop songs. Fact. 2) "Despite despair, I stay inspired" - Blake Donner R.I.P. RIOT
